WHY NOT ?

April 30, 2025

What would it look like to become the absolute best version of yourself?

Picture it like a video game—you’ve hit max level. Full potential unlocked. Where are you? How do you move, perform, carry yourself?

Great, now how do we get there?

Reprograming - redefining what you believe is possible and removing the limits you’ve placed on yourself.

You ever have those moments where your mind just won’t shut up—Listing all the reasons it won’t happen for you?

Feeding you doubt, telling you not to aim too high, not to believe too much, to play it safe with backups and excuses? That maybe you don’t deserve it.

But what if your thoughts were wrong?

What if the limits you’ve placed on yourself aren’t even real?

What if—for just a second—you realized it doesn’t have to be this way? This is sometimes all it takes to reprogram your mind.

The question to ask yourself is: Why not?

Why can’t you make the NHL? Why shouldn’t it be you who defies the odds? Someone has to do it. Why can’t you be the standout player who is small, undrafted, or overlooked but still makes it?

Why can't you play fearlessly, maintain confidence regardless of circumstances, or be the one who stands out? Why can't you strive for excellence and at the same time have a peaceful life? Why can't you redefine who you are, what you're capable of, and how you perform? Why can’t you become a unique example? Someone’s going to do it. Why not you?

Don’t buy the cheap thoughts that pop up in your head with all the reasons it may not happen. If you give those thoughts credibility, they will forever define you.

Every time your head fills with reasons why it won’t work, just ask yourself, “Why not me?” The excuses and limitations your mind makes up are nothing more than junk from the way we were programmed from society and the world—the way you were molded to think, believe, and behave, by the general mass of societal rules, social norms, and picking up on what everyone else does.

We all experience imposter syndrome—it seems it could never be us. We see the results others achieve, but doubt we can do the same. Your mind will try to convince you that you're not cut out for it, finding all the reasons why you shouldn’t be the one, why you won’t make it, why you’re not “fit” for the role.

If there’s a rustling in the bushes, it’s safer to assume it’s a tiger 10/10 times. That’s how we survived—by leaning into the worst-case scenario. This is our built-in pessimistic bias. It helped us stay alive back then, but now it’s killing your potential.

Your mind will search for and collect all the evidence it can to convince you that you don’t deserve it, that you won’t make it, that you’re not good enough, or that it’s just not possible for you. If you believe the story your mind tells you, the consequences are massive. You’ll only ever be as good as the story you choose to believe.

This is part of the human condition, living with the mind.

Through a lot of experience, you eventually realize that the only thing ever getting in your way is yourself. The only thing you're competing against is yourself. The only person you're cheating is yourself. The truth is, the only real competition you face is with yourself—with the limits you impose, the stories you believe about yourself, and the comfort zones that hold you back.

You're competing against where your performance is now, compared to where your best possible level could be. How high can you express your game? Look at athletes like Connor McDavid. You can tell he doesn’t judge his success by others but by his own standards and growth. He is only concerned with being at his best possible level—not just scoring more goals or getting more points than other players, although those are part of the game. His real passion lies in something deeper.

Take a real look at your own skills and physical capabilities. When you play—where do you stand? Are you pushing toward the top of your meter, or are you stuck in the middle, maybe even the bottom

You’re not competing with anyone else. You’re constantly competing with what’s possible for you. It’s a single-player game. You’re on your own path, figuring out what works specifically for your body, your development, your style, your mindset.

Think of it like plants—different ones need different nutrients, sunlight, water, and care. The same goes for players.

What helps one player might hold another back. The rules aren’t universal.

The journey of discovering what’s possible for you has nothing to do with anyone else. Mastery only exists on a personal level. It comes from mastering your own path in your own way.

Why not me? A question to ask,

Challenge the limits, take off the mask.

In the game of life, where you set the pace,

Your path, your rules, your own embrace.

Defy the odds, the critics, the night,

Why not you, in your own spotlight?
